Western Pennsylvania Regional Data Center The Western Pennsylvania Regional Data Center (WPRDC) offers unique opportunities for interested students and researchers to use existing data sets and collaborate on research and data analysis projects. The dataCoLAB team is familiar with the WPRDC’s collection and goals, and can support participants in connecting with WPRDC and in working with their collection.
Carnegie Mellon Statistics and Data Science Program The dataCoLAB team at CMU Libraries has worked with talented teams of undergraduate students from the Statistics and Data Science program. DataCoLAB connects students with library and open data to create tools and answer questions that help improve Libraries services. As a recent example, a group of students worked with data generated from the Dimensions database on past and current grant funding for CMU research. They created interactive online tools including a dashboard and a search function that allow a user to dynamically explore the grant funding landscape of CMU research over time. This can aid in identifying potential future funding sources and facilitate new collaborations.
