Got Data?

Get help with analysis, visualization, workflow, and more.

Do you suspect your data has more to give? You may be looking for new ways to understand or interpret data you’ve collected. Or you might need help analyzing, organizing, or visualizing an existing dataset. Perhaps you suspect you’d benefit from a more effective or efficient workflow, or better tools to share and collaborate. If you are looking for clearer or more powerful ways to communicate about your data, or want more confidence in your results, dataCoLAB would love to hear from you.

The dataCoLAB program can help you get more from your data and create a more robust, rigorous approach to your workflow and analysis. The project is open to anyone in the CMU or Pittsburgh community. Data can be from any field or discipline, and the project can be in its early stages or well-established.

How it works and what to expect

Collaborating will offer valuable, supportive input on how to analyze your data, update and improve your data analysis workflow, and make your analysis more efficient, reproducible, and statistically sound. The process can also reveal new applications for your existing data, and open the door to future collaborations.

Submitting the Data Assistance Sign Up is your first step towards getting involved. Providing a detailed and precise description of your data and needs will help speed up the process! If the dataCoLAB team needs more information to best match you with a consultant, we’ll reach out and arrange a time to chat.

Once you are matched with a consultant, you’ll attend a project initiation meeting with a dataCoLAB information specialist. At this meeting you’ll get to know your consultant, learn more about best practices and tools for collaboration and project documentation, and make a plan for working together.
